Needing Bill Assistance.

Well the long over due Electric Bill arrived today....

it's £1607.27

No mistake it's a correct billing price I even got them to check the meter reading over the phone with the billing dept.

How this happened. Well I spoke to Carol on the phone who was very helpful with finding out what had happened in the first place apparently when we sent in the meter reading back in Jan 2003 it generated a bill a lot higher than what are bills normally were so the billing dept cancelled it as being an error. the next 3 bills all came through as being estimated even though we'd be sending in the correct readings Jan 2004 the same thing happened a larger than normal bill was generated and again the billing dept cancelled it and issued one more like our 'normal' level. So here we are March 2005 bill arrives and it's £1607 that I have to pay.

I'm so fucked it's not funny. I'm not in work ar the moment I get £110 a fortnight to live on so even if I don't eat or have any other bills to pay it'll take me 30 weeks to pay it off. Problem here is I have to pay Phone/Cable bills and the TV licence is due start of May as well.

I really don't know what to do here now I've contacted someone about getting benifit assistance but that's going to take at least 4 weeks before I even get a hearing. They don't even send the forms to get the process started by first class so they won't arrive until sometime next week.

I think I'm gonna need some help really desperatly soon.

Yeah, that sucks something fierce. I'd complain about that quite a lot, if not take it to court. Its the companies fault for not billing you, so thrusting such a large bill upon you is border-line illegal in my opinion...

Unfortunatly there is nothing I can do in this situation as the bills based on the meter reading so it is money I owe just that I wasn't informed at the time it was owed...
